Research Associate
This position is at the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), a multi-disciplinary center for research to advance the science of learning by bringing together leading researchers in the cognitive, social, and educational sciences.
LRDC is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Research Associate.
This Research Associate would contribute to The STEM Pathways for Underrepresented Students to HigherEd (STEM PUSH) Network, a National Science Foundation (NSF)-a funded project which is establishing a national network of STEM pre-college programs and a mechanism to strengthen and accredit these programs for college admissions consideration.
The responsibilities are to drive the design and pace of new work around equitable access to college admissions and accreditation of pre-college STEM programs.
The Research Associate will be required to independently plan, conduct and analyze tests of change and design, collect, and analyze surveys of network participants and higher education stakeholders.
The Research Associate will be required to contribute to the design and evaluation of an accreditation credential and to prepare and report data for analysis, presentation, and publication.
The candidate must be able to work within the context of a multi-disciplinary team of Research Associates and design pilot studies to be executed with college admissions and pre-college program partners.
A qualified candidate has a doctoral degree in either a STEM, STEM education or evaluation field with strong experimental design and data analysis skills.
The ideal candidate has experience with pre-college STEM programs and racially diverse populations.
The candidate must have strong interpersonal, writing, and communications skills, and be committed to addressing racial inequity in STEM. `
