Full Time 40 hours Grade 000 Pediatrics M&D Neonatology

Responsibilities

General Description:

The University of Rochester Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology, is currently recruiting for a non-tenure track position in the newly funded Pediatric Center of Excellence in Nephrology (PCEN) Biospecimen Core lab. Candidates should hold a PhD with demonstrated expertise in kidney morphology, histology, molecular and cellular biology. Applicants utilizing tissue clearing, immunofluorescence and histochemistry and advanced microscopy techniques are encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant will join a laboratory providing human lung, kidney and immune system resources and expertise to several multi-institutional, multidisciplinary consortia, including the Human Biomolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP), the developmental Lung Molecular Atlas Program (LungMAP), the Senescence network (SenNet) and the PCEN. These consortia are dedicated to creating publicly accessible cellular and molecular atlases of human organs at the cellular and subcellular level. The investigator will work with colleagues across several academic institutions to expand biological and data repositories, supporting closure of critical gaps in knowledge about human kidney and lung maturation in the pediatric period, a highly vulnerable time for injury. The work will contribute to human in-vitro model development, as well as cellular and spatial transcriptomic and proteomic exploration of pediatric healthy and injured organs. Participants will have opportunities and expectations to contribute to frequent scientific interactions with investigators, engineers and analysts advancing technologies to visualize and measure high-resolution 3D models of pediatric and adult kidney and lung.
