UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking two student assistants to join The Research Computing User Support and Services Team, in Research Computing, a unit within UFIT. Our students are responsible for assisting UF Research Computing with user support, ticket triage, application installation, and support tool development. The students will work with Research Computing facilitators and systems staff and communicate with customers.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

• Support ticket triage
• Answer basic support questions via the ticketing system, slack, and Zoom
• Install research applications on HiPerGator
• Develop support-related scripts, tools, and/or web applications

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour

This position is open to all students eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0-grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

• Strong communication skills
• Familiarity with Linux and command-line use
• Research or programming experience

• This position requires U.S. work authorization.
• This position requires FBI fingerprinting.
