NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, located in the Bronx, accommodates more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential investigational drug services to investigator and research personnel in
    both inpatient and outpatient setting, according to Standard Operating Procedures, Good
    Clinical Practice and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for investigational drug orders, proper storage, inventory and returns in
    accordance with study protocols
  • Be knowledgeable on study protocols and adhere to the requirements of each study
    protocol.
  • Provide investigational drug information. Write and follow study specific
    procedures.
  • Review protocol amendments and updates documentation and processes as
    required.
  • Prepare, compound, manufacture and dispense investigational drugs for ongoing research
    studies
  • Accurately dispense medications and prepare sterile products including IV admixtures and
    chemotherapy/biologics, following proper aseptic technique.
  • Maintain and update the records involved with management of investigational drugs
  • Work with infectious agents.
  • Provide medication counseling to patients and monitor adherence to therapy.
  • Interact with hospital staff, investigators, coordinators, sponsors, and study monitors.
  • Attend monitoring visits and/or meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned. May be assigned to work in satellite locations.
  • Report to lead research pharmacist and research director who oversee all operations of
    investigational drug service
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and policies related to the conduct of trials
    involving investigational or marketed drugs.
  • Position will share on-call duties with lead research pharmacist
  • Prepares for and attends PSVs, SIVs for study start up; represents investigational pharmacy
    and contributes to meetings for complex studies to outline workflows and ensure safe
    processes
  • Attends research related meetings as needed

Qualifications:

  • PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • At least 3 years of hospital inpatient pharmacy experience required
  • Prior oncology pharmacy experience and clinical trial experience strongly preferred
  • Current licensure from the New York State Board of Pharmacy
  • A minimum of 3 years commitment is required
