REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager

STATUS: Part Time Non-Exempt

EFFECTIVE DATE: January2023

Primary Purpose: Our restaurant is looking for bussers who can work weekends and some weeknights. We are looking for a candidate who can work in a fast-paced environment and work cooperatively with others. Prior restaurant experience preferred, but not required.

Busser Responsibilities:

1. Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery, and napkins from tables after diners are done eating

2. Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables

3. Replacing cutlery and glassware in anticipation of new diners

4. Refilling paper napkins, salt and pepper shakers and any other depleted condiments on the dining table

5. Refilling drinking glasses with water

6. Bringing out meal orders if waitstaff are busy

7. Handling cleaning of the dining area at the close of day

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

1. Works well under pressure

2. Completes work in a timely manner

3. Observes all safety and security procedures

4. Uses equipment and materials properly

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours.

2. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move food, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.

3. Frequent bending and stooping.

4. Works indoors and outdoors.

5. Long strenuous hours at times.

SAFETY HAZARDS OF THE JOB:

1.Potential safety hazards as typically associated with a commercial kitchen environment and food prep operations including, but not limited to cuts, burns, slips and falls.

2. Frequent moderate to heavy lifting is required.
