Job description

The Restaurant Supervisor is crucial to ensure exceptional hospitality while overseeing the restaurant front of house operations and personnel.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for exceptional guest service.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily plan of restaurant staffing needs.
  • Interview and hire candidates for employment based on the company needs.
  • Schedule Restaurant FOH staff.
  • Responsible for food and beverage operations on a shift-to-shift basis.
  • Assist with coordinating private events and act as a liaison between Sales and Marketing.
  • Report complaints and resolution steps to General Manager
  • Responsible for exceptional service and uniforms of Restaurant FOH staff.
  • Ensure areas are kept clean and free of debris.
  • Actively look for ways to help Restaurant staff.
  • Motivate, develop, and direct Restaurant staff as they work.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitor all restaurant FOH staff and workstations to ensure all checklists are being completed
  • Knowledgeable regarding menu, food preparation, beer, liquor and wine programs.
  • Understand wine and food pairings.
  • Present food or beverage information or menus to customers.
  • Ensure all health and safety restaurant policies and procedures are followed.
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.
  • All other responsibilities as designated by Management.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in the food & beverage and / or hospitality industry.
  • Proficient with all MS Office Applications.
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.
  • Must have a driver’s license or reliable transportation.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Employment subject to successfully completing a Background Check and/or CORI Screening.

  • 3+ years experience working in the food & beverage and / or hospitality industry.
  • Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with all MS Office Applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral format.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • The following certifications are required - ServSafe, Tips, Crowd Control
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment that requires being on your feet for an extended period of time.
