The Risk Manager evaluates, plans, directs and implements an innovative risk management program to evaluate and manage cost, schedule and technical risks for the xEVAS program.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes operational objective and work plans.
  • Researches, develops, recommends and implements strategies and programs for the xEVAS space suit risk management process.
  • Prepares risk assessments and presents senior management with a clear and consistent approach to mitigate risks in partnership with other team members.
  • Participates with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives to mitigate program risk.
  • Interfaces with IPT leads and project managers to help educate and facilitate risk identification and mitigation at the lowest levels of the xEVAS program. Facilities the escalation of appropriate risks for program assessment and action.
  • Provides Risk Management training and education at all levels of the risk management program.
  • Other duties assigned.


REQUIRED:

  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or a degree in business administration, finance, risk management or combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires 10+ years of relevant experience, leading and managing aerospace or DoD risk management programs.
  • Experience working with risk and business impact analysis in such matters as support to the mission assurance, quality, and environmental health and safety functions; liability and loss potential analysis.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computer, statistical software and business solution software.
  • Experience leading and supervising a team.


DESIRED:

  • Fluent knowledge of Active Risk Manager (ARM) or equivalent software.
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Prior experience with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Payload Safety processes and procedures is highly desired.


WORK LOCATION:

This position is located onsite; no hybrid or remote working will be available for this position.


BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.


DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.


STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:

All of Bastion's employees must be team players, able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives, they must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented. In addition, they must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and must be organized with good time management skills.
