The Housekeeper performs duties and responsibilities under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor. He/she utilizes aseptic techniques and procedures by use of specialized equipment for cleaning and upkeep of delivery rooms, intensive care areas, operating and recovery rooms, and other assigned areas of the Hospital. Performs laundry duties utilizing aseptic techniques and procedures, including ironing and folding clean laundry. Performs washwheel duties in a safe and efficient manner through use of heavy-duty washwheel equipment specially designed for hospital use.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

High school education.
EXPERIENCE:
1.
Previous housekeeping / laundry experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Attends all inservice hospital training programs and departmental sessions as scheduled.
2.
Participates in patient safety training and patient protection, including the needs and methods to report medical/healthcare errors and/or abuse.

Performs all HOUSEKEEPING duties and responsibilities according to established policies and procedures as assigned.
4.
Performs all LAUNDRY duties and responsibilities according to established policies and procedures as assigned.
5.
Performs all WASHWHEEL OPERATOR duties and responsibilities according to established policies and procedures as assigned.
6.
Reports immediately to the Services Director/Supervisor any equipment malfunction or safety issues.
