Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) is a Colorado-based 501(c)3 organization that provides professional development services for practicing educators locally and nationally and operates the PEBC Teacher Residency trains well-qualified new teachers for high-needs schools. PEBC's goal is to provide training and professional learning to cultivate highly effective P-12 educators who are dedicated to students' social, emotional, and cultural needs as well as growth and achievement. THE OPPORTUNITY
The Rural Manager of Resident Development supports residents as they acquire the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to become an effective classroom teacher. This role works alongside a team of educators to develop and facilitate licensure coursework for residents during our year-long residency program. The Manager of Resident Development also engages in regular coaching cycles with residents to facilitate their growth in applying educational theory to practice. The successful candidate exhibits the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, delivers relevant and engaging facilitation, and has rich classroom experiences to draw from in order to support residents in successfully transferring theory into practice. This position reports to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Director of Clinical Experiences.

This opportunity will average around 32 hours a week, with some weeks requiring more hours or few hours, depending on the season.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Design and facilitate licensure coursework aligned with CDE Teacher Quality Standards, INTASC standards, and Residency High Priority Resident evidence-based practices beginning in Summer Institute and throughout the academic year. Coursework will be facilitated both in-person and online through Canvas.
  • Provide feedback to residents on licensure and seminar coursework (assignments, readings, discussions, etc), explicitly naming opportunities for professional growth.
  • Collaborate with Director of Curriculum and Instruction on development and refinement of licensure scope and sequence
  • Provide support through the facilitation of bi-monthly Professional Learning Community meetings with residents
  • Observe and coach Residents (in person and online), providing written feedback, support, necessary interventions, and ongoing evaluation of growth, including tracking growth of the Residents along the program High Priority Resident Practices (HPRPs)
  • Facilitate Mentor Seminar and support mentors in building relationships with residents, coaching, and providing feedback.
  • Provide support to residents as they navigate the hiring process.
  • Provide coaching check-ins for Year 1 post-residents (either in person or virtually), offering support, guidance, and connections to PEBC resources
  • Collaborate with Director of Clinical Experiences and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction on support and/or probation plan creation, tracking and support when necessary
  • Support the entire PEBC residency program by engaging in resident selection, recruitment and candidate interviews, and participating residency and other PEBC events
  • Support PEBC leadership in developing new and maintaining current school and district partnerships
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Director of Clinical Experiences.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

  • Master's Degree in Education required
  • 3+ years of classroom teaching experience required; 5+ years preferred
  • 2+ years facilitating adult learning experiences such as professional development, facilitating groups/meetings, coaching in classroom settings, etc. required
  • Experience coaching adult learners required
  • Has held or currently holds a valid teaching license
  • SPED and/or secondary qualifications or experience highly desired
  • Demonstrated skill in creating and implementing online coursework
  • Knowledge of Colorado state standards and other teacher quality standards; knowledge of challenges present in high-needs K-12 learning environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal development of equity-based and inclusive practices
  • Demonstrated skill in supporting residents across their social, emotional, academic, and professional needs
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and/or willingness to learn new digital platforms required for the facilitation of programming (i.e., Google Classroom, Edthena, Canvas)

  • Expected annual salary range of $55,000 - $60,000 depending on experience and education
