Job Summary:


Woodfin-Your Home Team is seeking a knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to join our team! The Safety Coordinator is a highly visible position supporting multiple lines of business and ensuring employees are both aware of, and following, OSHA safety standards. The Safety Coordinator will work with an overall goal of improving the companywide safety culture.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Influences the workforce towards achieving an injury free culture of care.
  • Conducts employee training sessions to educate employees on safety standards and expectations, as well as safe machinery operation.
  • Conducts both scheduled and random jobsite observation visits and documents findings appropriately.
  • Reviews existing policies and procedures, and recommends changes as needed.
  • Administers Random/Post Accident/Reasonable Cause drug tests.
  • Interacts with employees, management, customers, doctors offices, officials, etc. to ensure accurate and timely claims management and mitigation.
  • Performs accident investigations and identifies the root causes.
  • Enforces policies and procedures.


Job Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelors degree with a focus in Safety Management or Construction Management is preferred, but not required.
  • OSHA 30 and Current OSHA 510 or 511, or willingness to complete within 6 months of hire.
  • OSHA 500 certification and Certified Safety Professional designation is a plus.


Job Requirements:


  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and meeting facilitation abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
  • Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours and be on call occasionally as situations arise (rare).
  • Occasional overnight travel for learning seminars or visits to company operations in North Carolina.
  • Ability to navigate safety tracking software and generate reports.
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods of time.
