Summary
As a member of the Sanitation Department, you will provide leadership and technical support in the area of Food Safety and Sanitation with an emphasis on product safety and regulatory (FSMA) compliance. The Sanitation Supervisor will manage the hourly sanitation team. This position is located onsite at the Cedar Rapids location.
Responsibilities:
This role will serve as a frontline supervisor providing team leadership and functional expertise:
- Manage hourly employees in cleaning activities, ensuring correct methods, frequencies, precautions are taken.
- Manage directly or indirectly employees completing routine sanitation activities.
- Track MSS completion and execute corrective actions to gaps.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are documented.
- Establish and enforce cleanliness and accountability standards.
- Handles team performance and personnel issues
- Conducts performance coaching, provides individual feedback, and issues corrective action
- Develop, implement, and sustain effective Master Sanitation/ Master Cleaning Schedules within a Business Unit/ Department.
- Housekeeping, including, PIC (Periodic Infrastructure Cleaning), PEC(Periodic Equipment Cleaning), Routine Sanitation and SSOP’s
- Provide food safety training, to include food safety and allergen plans, regulatory (FSMA) requirements, GMPs and quality measurement systems.
- Provide daily feedback to plant management as well as team members regarding regulatory compliance, quality/ food safety, safety, and reliability issues.
- Manage aspects of food safety at the floor level. Conduct periodic self-inspection audits ensuring FDA (FSMA), AIB and FSSC 22000 Standards requirements are met. Drive corrective actions as needed.
- Must have strong leadership skills to ensure ability to lead the technical resources that will be under direct supervision, as well as influence non-direct personnel in key maintenance related issues
- Experienced in a team-oriented culture in a Union environment
- Strong foundation in interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively challenge status quo and ability to handle the “tough” conversations.
- High School Diploma required, Associates degree or equivalent background preferred.
- Experience in Sanitation, Manufacturing, Warehouse, or Operations Preferred
- 1+ years’ experience in Leading or Supervising Others Preferred
- Experience in Coaching and Monitoring Performance of Others – Take Others With You
- Able to Instruct and Teach Others
- Skills in Organizing, Planning and Prioritizing Work
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Capabilities
