WORK LOCATION: Willow Pass Park, 3175 Salvio St, Concord, CA 94519
HOURS: Sunday - Friday, varying hours, flexible schedule
SALARY: Starting at $15.60 / Hour

THE POSITION:
The City of Concord's Parks & Recreation Department is looking for someone who enjoys being around sports and is familiar with softball or baseball. Knowing how to keep score is not required. Applicant will work with umpires and field supervisors to ensure a quality game experience for players. Must be able to work independently and focus on the game.

- Managing the game clock
- Recording the score
- Operating the score board
- Helping the field supervisor when needed
- Demonstrates cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and the public
- Performs other duties as assigned
Work is typically performed in an outdoor environment, with potential exposure to
adverse weather conditions.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of softball, baseball or related sports is desirable. Scorekeeping experience not required (training will be provided).
- Ability to work and think independently and act with sound judgment.
- Manage time well and work within time constraints.
- Knowledge of the operation and minor maintenance of various vehicles and equipment used in grounds maintenance work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including providing information to the public.
- Ability to be flexible and perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and the public.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain before start of program: Fingerprint clearance, TB clearance, CPR certification, First Aid certification.
