Summary:

The Screener assists patients, visitors and staff to safely enter Northern Light Mayo Hospital. Screeners are a warm, calm and compassionate presence to our community as they first enter Mayo Hospital. They do this by taking temperatures, asking if people have specific symptoms of illness and providing masks when appropriate. When working with visitors, they communicate current visitation policies and utilize the daily patient census for visitation policy exceptions. Screener’s work closely with patient care staff to navigate extenuating circumstances. Screeners are a key component in limiting exposure to our patients, our employees and our community from illness.

Responsibilities:

The employee must possess the core competencies of self-management, collaboration, initiative flexibility and motivation, i.e. staff must be willing to accept changes in assignment as needed. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Other information:

A High School Graduate or G.E.D. required.
