Ballard Spahr, a national law firm with 15 offices across the country has an opening for a Security Analyst who will provide support for the Firm’s security solutions. The selected individual will perform audits of Firm systems, participate in incident response and assist with client security audits. This position is located in Philadelphia however will consider a remote option if located in close proximity to one of our offices in Atlanta, Baltimore, Delaware, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, New Jersey, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Sioux Falls, Washington DC or Wilmington, with the expectation to work in the office as needed.

Our Analyst will:

  • Perform vulnerability scans as needed and report on monthly vulnerability scans.
  • Perform periodic audits and assist with audits of the Firm’s third-party vendors.
  • Proactively review security events via the Firm’s SIEM solution.
  • Monitor systems to identify and respond to anomalous activity such as worms, Trojans, viruses, and malware.
  • Assist with client questionnaires.
  • Ensure proper deployment of security solutions including but not limited to desktop malware solutions, DLP solutions and other endpoint security settings.
  • Collaborate with Information Services groups as needed to ensure security compliance is met.
  • Participate in incident response as part of the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).
  • Support, manage and maintain the firm’s security related solutions working with appropriate Information Services functions as required.


Required Skills


Exceptional attention to detail and excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills. Solid communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as know when to escalate issues that are beyond scope of responsibility and/or knowledge. The ability to set priorities, manage multiple deadlines and perform when under pressure are essential.


Required Experience


The chosen candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, CISSP a plus.
