The Public Safety Officer acquires and applies the job skills necessary to provide a safe and secure environment for improving the health of our communities. -
Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.
-
1 year work experience in a role requiring public interactions.

3 – 5 years work experience in related field preferred (law enforcement, military or security management).

Previous healthcare security experience preferred.

Must complete Basic Security Officer Certification through the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) with-in the first 90 days of employment.

Must complete CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) with-in the first 6 months of employment.

Refer to Life Support Training Policy #636Prefer Basic Security Officer Certification through International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).

Satisfactorily complete all required organizational and departmental basic, field, and in-service training programs.

Ability to complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.

Must have basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Products, Survallence & Access Control Software).

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Must have keen sense of responsibility, ability to make decisions, good judgement, and work independently.

Must be able to interact effectively with the public.
