What You Will Contribute To Altos
The Altos Institute of Medicine will capture knowledge generated about cell health and programming and develop transformative medicines. We are seeking a highly talented drug discoverer to lead a key clinically-targeted project in cellular rejuvenation and disease reversal, and to play a role in building and developing the Altos Institute of Medicine.
The successful candidate is a demonstrated scientific visionary and strategic leader who builds high-performing teams and drives innovation to develop new medicines. The selected candidate will have proven expertise in current and emerging technologies, has the ability and passion to generate scientific insights and demonstrates a capability for innovative approaches. Our success depends upon a culture of intense collaboration, enthusiasm, and openness. Candidates must have a strong background in clinical, basic or translational research and a demonstrated commitment to new scientific frontiers. The Senior Early Clinical Leader is a key partner with teams that span multiple therapeutic areas and the three Altos Science Institutes.
Who You Are
- Leadership of drug discovery and optimization including plans and approaches to ensure efficient execution and delivery of a lead candidate tor first in human trials including leading preclinical development and enabling FIH studies
- Represent the clinical and medical aspects to facilitate transition of products into pivotal trials
- Support the design and implementation of clinical protocols, data collection systems, digital tools, data analysis including statistical analyses Accountable for planning, conducting, and evaluating clinical trials and ensuring successful trial delivery
- Selection and management of collaborators and vendors
- Contribute to development of disease area strategies that integrate discovery research with clinical approaches to proof-of-concept in appropriate patient populations
Qualifications
- MD/PhD, PhD or MD degree and at least 15 years of experience
- Proven capability to lead, motivate and inspire in a diverse, global, cross-functional structure and commit to diversity, equity and belonging. A strong record of developing and mentoring excellent leaders
- A critical thinker with the ability to analyze possibilities and solutions and make pragmatic trade-offs, as well as a big picture innovator who can identify possibilities and is comfortable with ambiguity
- Clear and influential communicator: exceptional influencing skills that demonstrate strong thought partnership and create effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to build and connect strong teams and build community across Altos
- Experience in the discovery and development of oligonucleotide-based medicines a significant positive.
