ADECi is looking for a dynamic leader to join our expanding, and fast-paced Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team. Working in an evolving ESG space with diverse corporate clients, we are looking for someone with the experience to assist with business and market development, as well as team management and project delivery. The ideal individual will have a passion for the subject matter, advanced technical expertise/background, and a drive to continually learn and expand their career in corporate sustainability.

Working directly with the ESG Directors Team, the Senior ESG Manager will work to develop and implement our strategy for growth. This role will be responsible for existing client services expansion and will work with the business development team to identify, qualify and generate ESG opportunities with existing client. With support from our marketing team, they will also be responsible for cross-selling ESG service offerings to new and existing clients.

As part of the Sustainability team, you will be expected to also lead projects as a technical and subject expert and have the ability to think strategically and creatively about the client’s corporate context and sustainability challenges. This individual will apply knowledge about energy, emissions, water, waste, and other CSR topics to the myriad of topics and projects we work on. The Senior Manager will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of expectations between the ADEC technical team and the client, managing workload and schedules to meet project deadlines, but most importantly, growing our relationships with clients. The role will also contribute to the management and training of the global team of sustainability professionals.

Required Experience

• Experience implementing disclosure and sustainability frameworks such as CDP, GRI, SASB, TCFD, Integrated Reporting, UN SDGs
• Experience with GHG emission calculations and/or verification ideally with a certification in at least one protocol
• Experience and proven success in managing ESG or similar projects with multiple clients
• Proven experience in effectively managing project-assigned staff at different levels of the organization to ensure projects are completed on time, on scope and on budget
• Experience developing scopes of work and budgets for proposals

Additional Experience

• Working knowledge of sustainability indices including, but not limited to EcoVadis, ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, and DJSI
• Extensive CDP methodology experience (either scoring or completing disclosures) is highly desired
• Experience in the technical analyses of energy, waste, water, or other resource areas as it related to resource management, cost savings, or data management
• Comprehensive knowledge in business development for new as well as existing clients
• Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Sciences or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years of sustainability and business development management experience

• Track record of managing and developing relationships with clients – listen, adapt, and solve
• Advanced project management and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including strong telephone and written skills
• Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint are a plus
• Strong data analysis and research skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload to meet multiple deadlines in a calm, methodical manner
• Fluent in the English language (spoken and written). Fluent in a second language is a plus.

Work Environment

Fast paced and collaborative work environment. The position will entail some travel. Remote, hybrid and in-office work settings are available.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend extended periods of time in front of a computer and/or laptop. The employee is required to have hand/finger dexterity. This role will regularly be required to talk and hear; will be expected to spend extensive time speaking with clients, staff and vendors through phone and online programs.
