Clinical and Translational Science Institute - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (22010060)
This Senior Statistician position in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) will provide education and service related to study design and statistical analysis to research investigators at the University of Pittsburgh. The incumbent will interact with the Office of Clinical Research epidemiologist, statistician, other members of the office, and clients who submit requests for services through CTSI. Will oversee or perform data management, data analyses, and report writing for a large complex research project. Coordinate of all aspects of research data collection and analysis, daily project management, assess progress, and set project priorities. Perform data management and analysis, including design and implementation of analysis plan. Report writing. Make recommendations for project priorities. May assist with training. Familiarity with complex statistical methods that apply to all phases of clinical studies, including the ability to determine the data analysis methodology and study design at the beginning of a study. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents. Ability to adapt to changing analytic methods and learn new analysis techniques as required by client projects. Ability to present complex issues in oral and written form. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and flexibility in both the scheduling and the timing of appointments with clients. Ability to work on and successfully complete multiple simultaneous projects under pressure of deadlines. Ability to collaborate with client's research team, including faculty mentors, to establish research methods. Ability to use independent judgment when carrying out tasks. Ability to write, edit, and review final analysis-related reports for publication during all stages of the drafting and review process. Must be able to work with diverse group of faculty and staff. Proficiency in computer data management systems and methods of analysis and statistical packages (R, SAS, SPSS, and Stata), with the ability to design new statistical and data management programs to meet the needs of client requests.
Masters degree in Epidemiology, Public Health or Statistics plus at least 5 years of professional level and related experience. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
