Job Description
The Department of Biochemistry is seeking a professional, customer centric, dependable, self-starter to provide fiscal and HR support. Biochemistry is a jointly affiliated, complex academic unit with extensive involvement in teaching and research missions. The department includes over 100 faculty, staff and graduate students and also serves approximately 400 undergraduate majors. The Business Support Specialist Sr. position is responsible for providing administrative support to stakeholders as a member of a small but highly functional team.
Duties include
- Reconcile multiple accounts utilizing PeopleSoft journal and correcting entries
- Performs bi-weekly and monthly payroll reconciliation
- Generate and disseminate monthly fiscal reports to faculty
- Enter budget and generate reports in Workday
- Process employee actions including but not limited to, hiring, leaves of absence, termination and salary adjustments in PeopleSoft
- Responsible for completing the annual space survey
- Assist business manager and grants administrator to develop databases and spreadsheets to track fiscal and HR activities
- Other duties as assgined.
Salary
Salary Range:$17.96-$33.18 (hourly)

Shift
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Finance, HR Production, Workday and Microsoft Office Suite.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree: OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively as well as independently, works well under pressure and can juggle competing priorities and deadlines, interact effectively with diverse personalities, have excellent communication skills and the highest level of professionalism.
