POSITION SUMMARY:

Technician is responsible for diagnostics, reconditioning and repairing of tractors and other farm equipment. Technician with 5+ years of experience with John Deere or similar technical AG background needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Maintain and care for all shop tools and equipment and vehicles that are assigned or used by Technician.
• Maintain a clean, neat and safe work area and perform all miscellaneous duties associated with the job.
• Recondition and or repair tractors and other equipment assigned in the shop or in the field area.
• Responsible for posting and accounting of service time and materials used.
• Perform other related work as requested by management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

• Must be able to read on high school level. Ability to understand and comply with posted work rules and established accounting procedures.
• Ability to interact effectively with co-workers and vendors.
• Ability to use all equipment necessary to repair and recondition tractors and equipment.
• Must have own tools to perform repairs, prior service technician experience is needed and the ability to diagnose problems and plan out methods and sequence of repair.
• Must have valid driver’s license in good standing, the ability to be an approved driver for the company and to safely operate vehicles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)

• Ability to lift parts, tires, and tools up to 50 lbs as needed to complete job assignments.
• Ability to stoop climb reach and bend as needed to complete task.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Position is located in the dealership shop area in Robstown and at various farms and ranches in the Coastal Bend area.
• The demands and expectations that must be met by an employee are those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation, as listed in the job requirements and responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

• Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with others.
• Must be able to accept corrective criticism from supervisor.
• Must be willing to take on a variety of assignments as assigned by management on an as-needed basis within the department and within other areas of King Ranch if necessary.
