This is what you will do:

You will join a team of dedicated of laboratory support professionals to participate in the development and management of a best-in-class laboratory operations program. You will have the opportunity to leverage and develop your skills in materials management to ensure the procedures for shipment of critical materials and samples are following industry best practices and applicable laws. You will liaise with scientists and support staff under the direction of the supervisor of laboratory operation to ensure shipment requests are tended to in a timely manner. Bring your experience working in a regulated environment as you will manage the shipment of critical materials to our collaborators globally. You will be a key partner for the Bioanalytical, Biomarkers, Diagnostics departments, and other internal stakeholders.


You will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling shipments through various preferred couriers
  • Physical packaging of samples and other material according to DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
  • Creating or verifying shipment manifests
  • Creating customs invoices USDA statements, and Dangerous Goods Declaration forms
  • Verifying MSDS or SDS are available in included in shipments as necessary
  • Maintaining inventory of shipping supplies and ordering when needed
  • Providing daily status updates of all shipments from scheduling to delivery
  • Maintaining metrics of shipment activities
  • Liaising between clients and couriers to report and resolve complaints

You will need to have:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required, or an Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred with 0-2 years of related work experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, detail oriented and highly accurate
  • Prior experience shipping
  • The ability to establish a sound working report and win the trust of and others
  • Self-motivated and interested working in a complex environment
  • Ability to effectively present information and a willingness to assist others
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Smartsheets
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in a lab environment. As is typical of a lab-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted; work comfortably in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials; gown/degown PPE; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours; position may require occasional on-site weekend work. In addition, employees in this role must be able, with or without an accommodation to: pass a medical evaluation; wear a respirator while maintaining a tight-fitting seal to the face.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • IATA/DOT/IDMG certification
