Job description
JOBPerforms a variety of tasks associated with mailroom operations; receives, distributes, and ships packages and other deliveries to all areas of the College. Acts as a backup to the Purchasing Specialist.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Receives all mail, packages, and shipments; acknowledges receipt in ERP software; and makes deliveries to proper staff and/or offices.Establishes and maintains regular schedule for mail pick-up and delivery.Inspects damaged parcels and notes accordingly; refuse packages if badly damaged.Sorts, distributes, and meters mail.Interfaces with purchasing system to account for items received for accounts payable.Assists College staff in determining fastest and most economical method for mailings.Trains staff in use and proper maintenance of all mail equipment, and the ERP receiving program.Packs, wraps, and marks packages for shipping.Scans packing slips or other documents into the ERP, as needed.Maintains records of postage usage and requisition funds to replenish postage meter.Maintains unused postage and certified mail records.Assists in moving or transferring supplies from one area to another.Maintains internal stockroom of office supplies. Replenishes office supplies when necessary. Fills requisitions and deliver to requestors.Create bulk mail specifications for each job. Follow procedures to completion. Performs other duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required, Associate Degree preferredOne (1) year of directly applicable experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel, Word and AccessExperience with: Pitney Bowes mail equipment and software; U.S. Postal requirements preferredExperience with ConnectRight Mailer preferredValid Driver’s License required, which is currently in good standingFork Lift experience preferredAbility to lift 50 lbs. Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours to meet department and College needsPossess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partnersDemonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment
