YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION
The Social Media Engagement Coordinator serves to assist the Online Pastor in evangelism and discipleship in the online space. The role will be inclusive of working with volunteers to create, develop, execute, and evaluate the social media engagement for Eastern Star Church. The expectation of this role is to enrich the online engagement of the congregation while providing leadership and supervision of volunteers involved in ESC Online.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage pertinent details by staying focused on ever-changing priorities and planning with anticipation; presenting a work product that is of excellence, being abreast of current social media trends, and remaining well-versed and knowledgeable of internal policies and procedures.
- Work effectively with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Podbean, StreamYard, Clubhouse, etc.
- Develop a process for managing and evaluating volunteers
- Work with manager and volunteers to develop policies and procedures for ESC Online
- Oversee volunteers in online social media and streaming engagement
- Manage ESC’s Facebook Page and volunteer team
- Work with manager to create agenda for and help lead Bi-weekly ministry meetings with volunteers
- Operate as point of contact for ESC Online and volunteers
- Collaborate with other departments and ministries for their online engagement
- Responsibilities include routine tasks such as calendar management and meeting preparation and writing letters and responding to emails.
- Assists with monitoring the day-to-day delivery of the online programs and services to maintain or improve quality.
- Prepares oral and written reports as requested.
- Ability to work in an occasionally stressful environment, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks and efficiently allocate and manage time.
- Possesses advanced computer skills, to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and database management (ShelbyNext).
- Attends staff meetings and strategic planning sessions capturing appropriate information as requested and recording and dissemination of meeting minutes
- Knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets and other recreation related computer software. Ability to operate personal computer; calculator; copy and fax machine; phone; mobile or portable radio; automobile, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND IDEAL CHARACTERISTICS
High School diploma or equivalent. Must have strong organization and administrative skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with administration, supervisor, staff, volunteers, congregation and the community. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small and large groups. Ability to effectively read, interpret and present information to top management, the congregation, volunteers and the community.
- Knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing and spreadsheets. Ability to operate personal computer, calculator, copy and fax machines, etc. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
