JOB SUMMARY
Nokomis, Inc. is a premier R&D company in innovative technology, performing some of the most advanced R&D on the planet to solve problems for government entities and transfer mature technical solutions to the commercial sector. Nokomis was founded in 2002, and we now consist of nearly 40 employees at our office space in Canonsburg, PA.
Nokomis is seeking a self-motivated Software Engineer who has a desire to engage in unique and complex problems that have not been solved elsewhere. An ideal candidate will be able to apply a combination of UI and algorithm engineering to characterize, analyze, and document our proprietary data. The Software Engineer will be precise and detail-oriented while maintaining a focus on the end-user experience. The candidate will work both independently and within a team to achieve personal and company goals.
This is a full-time, salaried position (M-F, 40 hrs/week) with on-site work. Please be aware that, due to our work with government contracts, all Nokomis employees must be US citizens.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develop code in C# and C/C++
- Design and create GUIs for data analysis applications
- Enhance and debug existing coding and applications
- Perform unit testing and system-level testing of software
- Document software from an engineering and end-user perspective
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a current US citizen and able to pass a background screening
- Expertise in C# (WPF and WinForms)
- Proficiency in C++
- Understanding of object-oriented programming
- Ability to perform multi-threaded programming
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Fluency with serialization via YAML, JSON, and XML
- Experience with databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite
- Prior use with development tools, such as Visual Studio, Git, and Buildbot
- Familiarity with unit testing and systems-level testing
- Empathy for users and a drive for customer delight
