The Role
AXS is looking for motivated experienced QA Analyst to be part of our QA Engineering team with a mission to build, innovate and maintain technology for our B2B and B2C products. The Software Quality Assurance Analyst supports development on critical projects and applications as prioritized by our squad leads. The person in this role understands test methodology and best practices for software quality assurance and can execute in both Agile and Waterfall models.
What You Will Do
- Ensure user stories and business requirements are met. If not met Analyst creates defects and/or suggestions on how to improve the products.
- Partner with Product to understand the release, assists in defining the testing scope and creating the tests, provides the traceability to the requirements, supports the test execution and post-production testing (where required). This includes elaboration of Acceptance Criteria for User Stories and Features in the Agile model.
- Evaluates and tests software programs to verify that programs function according to design documentation and standards.
- Support the Agile development process both by elaborating acceptance criteria for User Stories and Features, writing test cases, writing defect reports and executing tests as the development process progresses through the Sprints
- Manually test AXS products' development work against defined product vision requirements and acceptance criteria, mainly (but not limited to): usability, functionality, stability, performance, aesthetics, and security
- Assist in completing testing activities on time, and effectively communicate with all members of the project team
- Proactively look for continuous improvement opportunities with the test methodology and best practices to support software quality.
- Assist with the planning of quality assurance task assignments, scheduling, and estimates.
- Communicate early and often with your day-today team members
- Manage changing priorities and be ready to pivot or adjust plans
What you'll bring
- 1+ years software quality assurance testing experience
- Proven ability to write and execute manual tests.
- Demonstrated ability to track issues to completion.
- Proven expertise of defect management tools.
- Proven ability to follow company testing standards
- Demonstrated experience in the review of software requirements, risk analysis, specification documents and testing procedures.
- Experience in the Software Testing Life Cycle fundamentals.
- The ability to work successfully within a team
- The ability to rapidly learn an application, new tools and techniques in order to become quickly productive.
- Ability to think in the abstract and see how small details fit into the bigger picture
- An independent thinker who is naturally curious
- A creative mindset – and an ability to approach a problem creatively
- Willingness and tendency to ask questions
- Good verbal communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills, mainly (but not limited to): spelling, grammar, punctuation, parallel sentence structure, and consistent writing style
- Knowledge of our market and users is not required, but will need to be learned
