OVERVIEW:
The Sourcing & Procurement Director is responsible to develop and implement cost effective strategies for the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services to support the companys needs. This position is significantly focused on improvement and expansion of the companys domestic and global supply network including leading negotiations for purchase contracts with best value supply partners. The Procurement Manager works closely and collaboratively with other managers and team members to implement approved plans within the department. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and mentoring for the team and will develop future leadership within the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide leadership and oversight to improve both sourcing and procurement activities in support of internal operations (manufacturing and kitting) and also distribution activities supplying materials directly to external customers.
• Establish sourcing and procurement strategies for US and overseas suppliers to ensure optimal low-cost supply chain.
• Lead a team of Purchasing Agents, Buyers, Expeditors and Specialists to execute purchasing.
• Work closely with the Sourcing Manager to implement sourcing and procurement strategies.
• Work closely with other managers to implement improvement activities and growth within the department.
• Recruit and develop team members within the department through mentoring and leadership.
• Perform performance reviews of direct reports.
• Provide leadership and promote continuous improvement for SCM sourcing and purchasing activities.
• Provide support as needed to ensure conformance to the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Negotiate material supply and services contracts, lead cost reduction initiatives as well as develop material pipelines.
• Report on current industry and commodity trends and report internally and/or externally.
• Create and evaluate department performance metrics and take actions as needed to ensure goals are met.

WORK ENVIROMENT:
The Sourcing and Procurement Director spends most of their time in an office environment, but may occasionally spend time at the companys manufacturing plant and project sites. The office is an open and collaborative space where you will work both independently and with the team. When at the plant, you will be in a more traditional manufacturing environment, with higher noise levels and frequent movement of people and equipment.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations

LOCATION:
Construction Innovations facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA and Mather, CA.

COMPENSATION:
Construction Innovations pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employees knowledge, experience and skill level.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years experience in supply chain management including domestic and international business.
• Bachelors degree preferred
• Extensive commercial & industrial electrical equipment knowledge
• Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and support change management within organization
• Extensive experience working within an ERP and/or MRP system. Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus.
