Summary/Objective

The Spring Up Operator performs all tasks involved in the production of Corsicana Mattress Company products as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Production Supervisor. The operator assembles mattresses using our established work instructions. The operator follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible in order to support the production goals and corporate values of Corsicana Mattress Company.

Essential Functions

• Assembles mattresses per established work instructions using a variety of pneumatic tools (e.g., c-ring, hog-ring guns, staple guns, hot melt guns)
• Assembles hot melt/water-based glue mattresses, application of various specified upholstered layers, and open coil units; foam-encased pocketed coil units, application of specified upholstery layers; and final mattress assembly.
• Prepares and organizes components for final assembly and restocks raw materials.
• Inspects mattress components and finished mattresses for unacceptable flaws or structural defects.
• Achieves or exceeds daily production and quality goals.
• Complies with all department and company safety rules.
• Tracks production and completion of Work Orders on schedule board or in computer system.
• Reports machine problems outside of operator’s capability to correct to the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager.
• Maintains a clean work area and completes daily area clean-up tasks at the end of shift. Properly disposes of trash and scrap at the end of the shift and as often as needed.
• Notifies Production Supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
