Responsibilities:
The Role…

The Sr. Manager of Accounting will be an integral member of the Accounting/Finance team and will work closely with the rest of the organization to ensure accurate accounting. They will report directly to the Director of Accounting and will work closely with other members of the Accounting/Finance teams. Responsibilities will include develop financial reporting and system analysis to meeting growing company complexities, improve Opex reporting and management, maintain SOX internal controls, perform and review account reconciliations and special projects. They will manage two Staff Accountants (second Staff Accountant to be hired 2023) while maintaining a hands-on role in accounting.

The position will be based out of our spacious, modern Emeryville, California office. WE ARE A HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT WITH FLEXIBLE NORMS THAT EQUATE TO ROUGHLY
3-4 DAYS ON-SITE FOR THIS ROLE WITH FULLY REMOTE-ONLY DURING HIGHER COVID CASE RATES IN THE COMMUNITY. The expected pay scale this role is $125k to $135k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.

Strategic Reporting Initiatives: 40% of the time
  • Software Enhancements - Subject Matter Expert and Business Liaison for all Opex related software implementation projects. Examples of upcoming projects include:
    • PPG Project – to enable reporting P&L at a more detailed level
    • Procure to Pay Project – ensure coding is accurate for Opex accounts. Expand PO requirement for additional departments
    • Reconciliations in OneStream – streamline reconciliations into our reporting tool
  • NetSuite Reporting – design reporting enhancements in NetSuite to better align with current business requirements (i.e. customer/vendor level reporting). Develop estimates/methodologies to increase visibility to Opex reporting, including the production of business unit P&Ls.
  • Adaptive – develop a thorough understanding of Adaptive reporting tool to facilitate NetSuite enhancements and alignment.
  • Develop and enhance Opex reporting and analysis.
  • OneStream chart of accounts - Lead the redesign of the NetSuite chart of accounts to better align with current business requirements as it relates to Opex. This will require an evaluation of NetSuite master data.

Month End Closing Responsibilities: 40% of the time
  • Manage Opex and intercompany allocations for Bell Ring Brands at the local level.
  • Review Account Reconciliations and flux analysis related to Opex (areas of focus include; Marketing, Research & Development, Legal, and General & Administrative – including T&E).
  • Main point of contact for Finance and provide and review flux analysis and insights into business drivers for both P&L and balance sheet accounts.
  • Confirms accuracy of operating and financial reports and manages data submitted to Post Holdings.
  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors (PwC) and internal auditors (EY) regarding all Opex related controls and requests. Provide auditors with required data for the audit.

Coaching, guiding, and business partnering: 20% of the time
  • Hire, coach and develop members of the team.
  • Train the organization as needed for GL coding for POs
Qualifications:
What are we looking for?

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
Experience:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility, including 4+ years of management experience.
  • Public Accounting experience and a CPA license required.
Skills:
  • Great attitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues and identify solutions in a positive, resourceful, and team-oriented way.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and research abilities.
  • Must be a motivated, self-starter, who is able to work independently or with a team.
