The Microelectronics department is seeking highly motivated and qualified chemical, mechanical and materials engineers to join a world class team advancing the future of our Microelectronics Team. At Collin Aerospace in your Cedar Rapids Iowa location, Our Chemical Engineer would be responsible for developing and maintaining day to day plating functions. Core duties of these roles will include but are not limited to development of material property testing, characterization or inspection plans, manufacturing & material processes, experimental methods, analysis and interpretation of data, providing data-based recommendations, formal presentation & report writing, and interacting with internal and external vendor customers.   • Chemical Engineering / REACH Compliance
  • Non-Destructive Evaluation / Test (NDE / NDT)
  • Mechanical Behavior Testing
  • Experimental Mechanics & Test Rig Engineering
  • Statistics & Data Analysis
  • Manufacturing & Material Processing Specifications
  • Propose/Create new procedures as required
  • Maintain responsibility and accountability for entire task/project
  • Demonstrates high level of self-initiative and bias for action
  • Collaborates with engineering staff to identify possible chemical or materials engineering related problems
  • Consult with Engineering Design, Supply and Quality operations as needed
  • Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • BS degree in Materials Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Physics, Metallurgy, Engineering or related discipline OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Materials Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Physics, Metallurgy, Engineering or related discipline
  • Advance Degree: Master’s or PhD in Materials or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with aerospace or gas turbine materials and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in an R&D laboratory or production support environment
  • Photolithography experience
  • Plating experience
  • Plasma/processes experience
