Responsibilities
The responsibility of the Sr. Clinical Data Analyst is the planning, designing and delivery of reliable and efficient standard integrated analytics that support The Texas Division and facilities’ strategic priorities of quality initiatives.
Utilizing quality data from the sources of truth identified/defined by the enterprise. Sources may include publicly reported databases, quality benchmark platforms, the enterprise national data warehouse and other selected clinical or regulatory data reporting tools (including the facilities’ Electronic Health Record) to perform valuable clinical/quality analysis. Under the guidance and direction of the clinical analytics leadership, they will work closely with division and hospitals’ quality teams to provide analytic support. The projects for this role will include, but are not limited to: enterprise quality dashboards, predictive analytics, advanced analytics, data visualization, outcomes measures, quality improvement, statistical and advanced modeling techniques using different types of health data, and coordinate with quality and clinical teams to develop data based recommendations and presentations to support stakeholders’ planning and decision making.

1. Align with the national analytic strategy to be a resource in support of the Texas Division clinical analytics needs.
2. Work with the Texas Division Clinical Analytics Team members to help develop and support analytic project plans with tactics, key deliverables, and timelines to support the Division’s quality, regulatory or benchmarking reporting needs.
3. Work with customers, such as quality and clinical teams, to define the analytic needs and to provide analytic support for division/hospital quality improvement initiatives
4. Collaborate with quality, division analytic leaders, service lines, clinical informatics, finance and others in a complex organizational matrix to achieve transformation using analytics.
5. Facilitate the development and maintenance of standard definitions for clinical analytics
6. Responsible for proactively identifying opportunities to improve customer focus, system thinking and quality (data and functionality). Can readily identify efficient and effective options for new solutions.
7. Uses standard statistical and analytic approaches (Hypothesis Testing, Correlational Analyses, Predictive Modeling, Data Visualization, etc.); defining the appropriate methodologies through the identification of strengths and limitations of alternatives.
8. Identifies opportunities for organizational process re-engineering and performance improvement to deliver and optimize standard division analytics with the greatest possible reliability and efficiency.
9. Guide and mentor other analysts in the department during initiatives and projects as needed.
10. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline
- Five (5) years experience defining requirements and developing health care specific analytics required.
Preferred:
- Experience with SAS or R or other statistical softwares, Tableau and Qlik
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A foundation typically in analytics, statistics, and data modeling in healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of analytic best practices within healthcare and across analytically driven organizations.
- Ability to analyze raw data and disseminate results, with ability to think logically and process sequentially with a high level of detailed accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and measure/monitor daily/weekly/monthly operational processes to achieve implementation of a long-range enterprise analytics strategy.
