This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Project Manager for our Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Internationa Airport (HJAIA) office in Atlanta, GA. This person will support the Airport’s Capital Improvement Program portfolio of construction projects to modernize and expand the airport. Be involved in projects with our Aviation PM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • The Project Manager is responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of large construction projects, or specialized portions of multiple projects, to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding and contract administration.
  • Leverages advanced technical expertise to manage complex aspects of the project and is accountable for the resolution of issues requiring the application of specialized knowledge in high-risk trades.
  • Performs design and constructability reviews of projects.
  • Assists with evaluation of change order requests, requests for information, and other change issues.
  • Assists the Construction Manager (CM) and Quality Manager (QM) in addressing and verifying conformance to the project's quality control plan in accordance with quality assurance requirements.
  • Ensures final project deliverables (As-Builts & O&M Manuals) meet HJAIA standards.
  • Provides risk management feedback on all assigned projects prior to and during construction

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience post-graduation experience.
  • Maintains a robust understanding of safety requirements for all aspects of the site, including pre-planning, coordination with designer team, monitoring of construction activities and site conditions, and taking corrective actions to non-compliant work.
  • Utilizes technical expertise to solve problems.
  • Seeks out and secures advanced resources when additional expertise is required.
  • Monitor/review draft and final deliverables for adherence to these requirements.
  • Follow-up on legislation and commitments associated with the project.
  • Represent the owner in the negotiation of any & all matters related to cost, schedule & contract.
  • Represent the owner in the negotiation of changes to Contractor scope of work.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and manage the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
  • Monitor and regularly report to management on the progress of all project activity, including significant milestones and any conditions that could impact project cost or schedule.
  • Establish regular meetings to review project status and formulate action items
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Aviation construction experience
