Job description

This position reports directly to the Plant Controller and is responsible for a variety of Cost Accounting and Inventory Control activities and for various Financial Analyses and Reporting activities in support of profitable growth.

• Coordinates and completes all Product Costing activities including cost rolls, analysis, and problem solving.
• Performs Work Order closing functions, variance/age analysis and coordinates resolution with Engineering
• Plans, collects, and analyzes various account data to determine costs of business activities in support of cost improvement projects.
• Administers and Audits the Cycle Counting process to ensure system integrity and timeliness of counts.
• Reviews and analyzes Inventory and Margin reports, conducts research and performs analytical studies in support of growth and profitability activities.
• Prepares, analyzes, reconciles and provides periodic reports on various accounts for month-end closing process
• Issues various Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reports as well as Metric Analyses in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participates in and leads various department continuous improvement and plant kaizen projects.
• Assists the Plant Controller in the Annual Planning as well as the Forecasting processes.
• Interacts/Communicates professionally with and provides assistance to all internal and external contacts.
• Ensures compliance with Company Policies and Procedures
• Performs other General/Cost Accounting related assignments as required

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting and Inventory Control processes with emphasis on Costing systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strength in root cause analysis and change management
• Understanding of Inventory Control processes and tools
• Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
• Ability to work in a genuine team environment and be an active member of the management staff
• Accuracy of work and attention to detail
• Able to communicate professionally with team members at all levels of the organization
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with high tolerance for interruptions and changing priorities
• Dependable and available if overtime is needed
• Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• High ethical and confidentiality standards
• 3 years’ experience in manufacturing accounting or related role
• Manufacturing Costing experience PREFERRED
• Masters or Advanced Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing accounting or related role
• Familiarity with Parker/LORD parts and processes
• Experience with SAP and HFM systems
• Ability to Manage projects/processes working independently with limited supervision
• Ability to represent the organization as a primary contact on projects
• CMA or CPA
