SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. Summary

The Sr Designer/CADWorx Administrator is responsible for the management of the SEC CADWorx Spec Editor. They will create, edit and manage spec libraries to assist with the completion of designs and department goals. They will also assist with the completion of 3D / 2D designs and drawings for gas compression and/or production equipment projects including vessels, gas dehydration systems, meter skids.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

  • Manipulate / Edit CADWorx Specification Editor 2018+
  • Help troubleshoot CADWorx 2018+
  • Maintain CADWorx spec library up to date.
  • Review project specifications
  • Review quote to verify what was sold to the client.
  • Review design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, and supplier information.
  • General 3D design, structural, pressure vessel, isometrics
  • Perform computer layouts using specifications, standard drawings, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, line list and supplier information.
  • Learn and Complete computer drawings General Arrangements plan and elevation, P&IDs, skid, and vessels.
  • Create Drawings in CadWorx and in AutoCad.
  • Correct and release drawings and vessel calcs to shop for fabrication.
  • Develop Bills of Material relative to design documentation.
  • Ability to Check Drawings Dimensionally

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate Degree preferred or Technical Degree
  • 5+ years designing and documenting gas compression or mechanical, pipe, structural and civil systems
  • Experience with creation and management of CAD specs.
  • Working knowledge in compression, production equipment and process equipment

  • Experience in related industry; Natural Gas Compression as well as revamp compression units or experience with pressure vessels, piping or measurement skid design.
  • Software Knowledge:
  • Proficient using 3-D CadWorx design, AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, and Codeware Compress; proficient using complete Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
  • Must have the ability to learn and develop system design CAD files or drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices. Work assignments should be made based on the training and experience of the designer weighed against the complexity of the equipment and piping
  • Read instrumentation diagrams as well as compression layouts and process equipment
  • Proficient using 2018+ CADWorx Specification Editor, add and remove specialty items.
  • Ability to create different specs based on customer requirements.
