Job Summary:
The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Sr. Consultant – Specialized Vendors role is to build, maintain, and share ITAM knowledge and delivery process related to “specialized” technology and publishers. These “specialized” technology and publishers are vendors, licensed by SHI customers, that are non-core to ITAM by SHI and traditionally not an expertise that SHI possesses.

The ITAM Sr. Consultant – Specialized Vendors will possess knowledge of 3 – 5 vendors that are non-core. This role will then enable the ITAM organization to provide services on these and additional “specialized” vendors requested by our customers. The ITAM Sr. Consultant – Specialized Vendors will develop and leverage a process to research non-core vendors and gain the knowledge required to provide ITAM Services on these vendors. To assist our customers in controlling their software and hardware costs, as well as the associated legal and financial risks, this knowledge and associated process will be shared with the broader ITAM Service Delivery Organization through training and mentoring. This role will provide direct customer service delivery support as directed by management and as an opportunity to train and mentor other ITAM associates.

This position will report to the ITAM Services manager and is located at SHI’s Somerset Office location.

Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to:
  • Develop and follow an effective process to research and gain the knowledge required to provide ITAM services on new non-core vendors publishers’ product use rights, license allowances, and contractual entitlements
  • Ensure that ITAM knowledge and process stay aligned with changes associated to in-scope non-core vendors
  • Train, support, and mentor ITAM license consultants, analysts, and technicians on new non-core vendors or changes to these vendors
  • When instructed by management or when needed to train or mentor other ITAM associates, deliver ITAM services on non-core vendors for our customers
  • Develop any vendor specific delivery processes required to support new non-core vendors
  • Partner with ITAM Product Management, as needed, to bring new services to market or make changes to existing services
  • Collaborate with ITAM Product Management on Marketing, Pricing, and Sales Enablement considerations for new non-core vendor service delivery
  • Advocate SHI Services to SHI Account Executives and their customers
  • Engage with other SHI departments to collaborate in the delivery of integrated services.
  • Assist in creating and updating internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate with specialist knowledge in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as well as confirming SOW requirements, as required by Solution Consultants
  • Participate alongside with ITAM
  • Solutions Consultants in pre-sales activities to advise customers and inform of SHI’s ITAM capabilities
  • Attend, support and represent SHI at conferences and events
  • Regularly present at industry events, SHI Summits and Webinars
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and new ITAM services requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, as well as a minimum of
  • 5 years of experience within the Software or IT Asset Management field
  • SAM knowledge on 3 - 5 non-core publishers
Required Skills:
  • Understand IT Lifecycle from licensing to purchasing to deployment to decommissioning
  • ITAM service delivery expertise on 3-5 “specialized” vendors

The ideal candidate will be required to study and pass all the following within a short period of commencing the role.
  • ITAM Review Lisa Training & Certifications - ITAM Essentials Bundle
  • ServiceNow SAM Fundamentals
Unique Requirements:
  • Position requires frequent travel to customer sites (25%)
Additional Information:
  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $85,000 – $120,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
