Job description
Mansfield Service Partners is looking for a Staff Accountant for the Houston, TX location. The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with month end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, inventory, audits, analysis, and other designated areas of responsibility.
Functional Duties
- Ensure all activities are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP, company policies and procedures
- Complete month end close entries and accruals by established month end close deadline
- Complete reconciliation of assigned general and subledger accounts ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
- Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements
- Responsible for inventory related tasks including reconciliation, auditing periodic physical inventories, monitoring the inventory reserve, obsolete inventory and assisting with distributor program performance analysis
- Drive process improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Supports accounting team with special projects as assigned
- Other Duties as Assigned
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Knowledge & Experience
- 3 - 5 years in financial accounting
- Thorough knowledge of G/L, A/P, and A/R
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
- Petroleum experience preferred
- PDI Enterprise Experience a plus
- Sage 100 Experience a plus
Qualifications & Characteristics
- Ability to multi-task
- Detail oriented
- Time and task management skills essential
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision to meet deadlines
