Position Definition:

Under the general direction of Principal Investigator Dr. Michael Weiner, and with oversight from the supervisor, the Staff Research Associate (SRA) III will provide project management for the Brain Health Registry (BHR), an online research registry aimed at recruiting, assessing, and longitudinally monitoring adult volunteers for neuroscience research, and other collaborations which use BHR participants and/or the BHR platform.

The overall mission of the BHR is to accelerate the development and implementation of improved diagnostic methods and treatments for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other disorders impacting cognitive and functional impairment. Our goal is to perform highly impactful work in the field of cognitive aging, leading to development of successful treatments and diagnostics. A specific objective is to find ways to identify individuals who are experiencing cognitive decline or who are at high risk for cognitive decline in the near future.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for the BHR, including collaborations with outside investigators that utilize the BHR for recruitment, screening, administering study procedures, and/or additional research services, all while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope. Duties include:

· Logistical support for the daily operations, including recruitment, data collection, study and database management

· Using in-house software to configure new studies and working with in-group developers to create new features/tools required to operate and oversee collaborations and projects.

· Development of recruitment and retention materials (i.e., email campaigns, printed brochures, website content, electronic newsletters and social media messages) for the BHR and/or for other BHR collaborations/sub-studies

· Monitoring of study metrics, including enrollment, engagement, retention, email open and click rates for specific email campaigns, participants’ demographics, referral source and user feedback for the purpose of improving user experience, future recruitment materials, and overall participation

· Preparation of budgets, proposals, and contract agreements for collaborations and/or grants

· Coordination with the UCSF Institutional Review Board, other regulatory groups, and/or in-group IRB specialist to establish approvals and maintain compliance, related to the BHR study or collaborations

· Supporting content production for educational resources within the BHR website or Participant Portal.

· Liaison for referral program site study coordinators, helping to track referrals through enrollment/randomization process

· Attending weekly internal meetings as well as regular project and team meetings. Will also met with supervisor weekly to provide updates

· Assist other BHR staff, including Co-Investigators and CRCs, as needed.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree and at least three years related project management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Strong interpersonal, written/oral communication and organizational skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goals

· Ability to work professionally, diplomatically and respectfully with a diverse populations & faculty/staff, at all levels

· Ability to work well under pressure

· Strong accuracy and attention to detail

· Ability to prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Desired skills:

· Experience with human subjects’ research and/or IRB

· CITI and/or HIPAA certification

· Experience with project management software

· Experience with Atlassian suite (JIRA/Confluence)
