INNOCEAN USA, a full-service advertising agency in sunny Huntington Beach, CA, is looking for a Strategic Planner/Futurist to join us!


OVERVIEW

Be the agency subject matter expert in the future of mobility and work with Hyundai and several affiliate companies who focus on urban air mobility, robo-taxis, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles by crafting brand strategy, long term marketing framework, creative briefs and engagement strategies.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBLITY

  • Analyze and uncover cultural trends/context, key consumer insights, understand the market landscape and identify opportunities for our brands. Do this through a combination of secondary research and consumer research. It is critical that information be converted into useful insights that are clear, concise and actionable.
  • Apply this learning to set strategy.
    • How it connects to Hyundai Motor Group and Hyundai Motor America
    • Incorporating innovation and sustainability story
    • Advancing HMG’s goal of ‘Progress for Humanity’
  • Be the agency’s global resource for the future of advanced mobility
    • Coordinating with the AAM team in Korea
    • Impact the entire ecosystem which includes Supernal to Motional to Cradle to HMA
    • Keep the Hyundai and Genesis strategy teams apprised of future convergence opportunities
  • Apply this learning to creating simple, clear briefs that both inform and inspire creative, media, social and experiential teams. As part of that, partner with these teams so their point-of-view is reflected in briefs.
  • See the brief through. This includes presenting it to clients. It also includes serving as a resource and partner to creative teams as they develop work and present that work to clients.
  • Attend conferences and seminars that will provide various perspectives on the future of mobility and report back to agency and clients
  • Advance the agency’s thought leadership in mobility with social posts, webinars, etc.
  • Take primary responsibility for evaluating the effects of communications in the marketplace including qualitative research and research tracking brand saliency and image over time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 – 7 years of relevant brand planning experience.
  • Experience in aviation or public/private transportation is preferred but aerospace and technology areas are also acceptable
  • Strong writing skills for publishing white papers and briefing teams across the globe
  • Ability to work independently especially in doing research
  • Generalist who is well versed in business planning, communications planning and experiential planning.
  • Passion for and a POV on where the future of transportation is going as well as the future of new media, new technology and how people engage with these.
