Job description
We’re looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager, Technology to join Procore’s Procurement department. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Engineering, IT, and Marketing to develop category plans, sourcing strategies, and project priorities across your main stakeholders to deliver savings and/or value improvements to Procore. The primary goal of this role is to become a critical trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders as you drive thoughtful improvements by fully understanding business priorities, category strategies, and external value propositions.
We are welcoming seasoned senior analysts or manager candidates who know their way around Engineering and IT and can also step into other commodities as required (e.g. Marketing, Legal, HR). You should be passionate about solving problems, enjoy analytical work, have ability to deliver clear & concise communications, and have a growth mindset.
This position reports into the Senior Technology Sourcing Manager and can be based remotely in the US with the expectation of some travel to our Austin, TX office and Carpinteria, CA headquarters as needed. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:
- Data Collection & Opportunity Assessment: Complete spend analysis for category, validate insights and gather buy-in from stakeholder(s), and prioritize opportunities found/received.
- Category development strategy and Execution: Lead the development, execution, and implementation of a complete Category Strategy for assigned categories, collaborating with key stakeholders, team members, and leaders impacted by the respective categories.
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead RFx process along with negotiation strategy required to execute spend consolidation, demand management, product rationalization, value improvement, benchmarking, new supplier onboarding, etc. to negotiate the best contract attainable for Procore.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Lead the process to identify critical suppliers and facilitate management of critical supplier relationships through KPI and SLA performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and a perspective on the external market to identify trends and changes. Evaluate and analyze suppliers through Supplier Risk Management program and lead appropriate mitigation strategies.
What we’re looking for:
- 8+ years experience in a Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Category Manager role with knowledge of public cloud agreements, SaaS, PaaS, Outsourced Business Process, Professional Services, etc. with a managed spend in excess of $100M per year
- Superior project management skills and ability to tackle complex problems by analyzing disparate data sources and putting a thoughtful evaluation together
- Leader with ability to drive change across the organization to achieve efficiencies in processes and systems
- Process and customer service inspired
- Experience with systems such as Coupa, Netsuite, ServiceNow, Jira, and TripActions preferred
