About PCs for People

Since 2008, PCs for People has been a driving force behind digital inclusion efforts across the US. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our mission is to provide access to technology that offers employment and educational opportunities to low-income individuals, families with children, and those with disabilities. Through an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve, we have connected over 300,000 people in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and recycled millions of pounds of electronics. Our services include free end-of-life IT asset management and certified data sanitization, technology refurbishing, computer distribution, computer repair, internet service and technology education. As a full Internet Service Provider (ISP), we are on the forefront of an innovative deployment model for affordable fixed wireless internet. Over the next year, we are poised to continue to launch hundreds of small cell LTE and 5G towers in cities around the county to help bring internet connectivity to those who need it most.

Key Role Responsibilities

• Organize and prepare tested inventory items to be listed on eBay.
• Photograph items for listing on eBay
• Research and develop pricing strategy for listed items
• Optimize data entry and list IT hardware in eBay and other ecommerce sites and complete required information regarding item descriptions, weights & dimensions for accurate shipping quotes, etc.
• Reviewing work orders to determine order packing activities and pack orders according to company policies and procedures
• Product testing as needed
• Perform all customer service functions
• Repairing and refurbishing computers
• Computer troubleshooting
• Hard drive sanitization
• Disassembling computers
• Packaging and shipping equipment
• Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required

Desired Skills/Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in technology, sales or Communications, a plus
• 1+ e-Commerce experience preferred
• Basic understanding of consumer and/or enterprise-level IT hardware a plus
• Excellent computer/internet experience in working in Windows PC environment a must Great verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to photograph and upload accurate photos of items while maintaining a high aesthetic quality
• Attention to detail
• Must be flexible, resilient and open to change
• Must be a self-starter with strong motivation and desire for continuous learning and improvement
• Ability to work in a general warehouse environment
