Role Overview*

InStride is looking for an on-site System Administrator to join an amazing education technology company in our Downtown Los Angeles, CA. office. The System Administrator will be responsible for Tier 2/3 IT support in coordination with IT Operations Manager and Help Desk Technicians. This role will also run IT hardware lifecycle efforts, including imaging computers (80% mac/ios, 20% windows), supporting inside and outside networks, SaaS applications, chipping in to employee awareness and education, application deployment, patching cadence, basic ticketing requests for employees, partners, and customers including onboarding hardware set-up for onsite and remote team members. Sys. Admin will be on-site support for anyone who needs help as soon as possible. Responsibilities

  • Proficient in Azure Intune & ID services, Okta SSO & MFA, and supporting on-site and remote staff
  • Incredibly sharp, good attention to detail, and very strong written and verbal communication
  • Effective workstation lifecycle management: new hires, refreshes, break-fix, decommissioning
  • Maintain asset inventory records through Snipe-IT (asset management platform)
  • Document support tasks, identify process improvements where needed, and create/streamline repeatable processes for the IT team
  • Work directly on incoming service desk requests to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues.
  • Handle the employee onboarding/offboarding process.
  • Issue user accounts and handle access management.
  • Owning hands-on fixes at the user’s desktop, including installing and upgrading software and configuring systems and applications.
  • Lead inventory on site and remote teams; ensure that physical inventory levels are maintained, replenishing as needed.
  • Run desktop architecture research and development; mobile devices and contracts; and management of copiers, printers, and vendor contracts.
  • Implement and lead appropriate enterprise desktop management solution(s), including JAMF and Okta.
  • Identify, recommend, develop, and implement end user training programs to increase computing security hygiene and self-sufficiency.

Ideal Profile

  • Proven ability in a technical support or customer service environment supporting Mac OS (80%), Windows (20%).
  • Excellent customer service experience.
  • Solid grasp of the help desk environment, including operations, processes, etc.
  • Proficient in Crowdstrike Falcon, Okta SSO and MFA integrated SaaS apps, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Solid understanding of iPhones and Android phones.
  • Knowledge in firewalls, Layer 2, Layer 3 OSI model, VLANs, DHCP, SMTP, TCP/IP, and DNS.
  • Understanding of Linux, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Zero Trust security model is a plus.
