Position Summary:
The KC-Y Technical Support Manager is responsible for providing support to the Airbus KC-Y Services Team on the function of Technical Support Services, to include providing guidance with regards to USAF and US Prime requirements.


Position Responsibilities:


Pre-proposal phase:

  • Support the KC-Y campaign working with the LMXT Services Integrated Product Teams of Airbus and US partner during the proposal phase.
  • Provide guidance to the Airbus Team regarding USAF logistics requirements related to KC-Y program.
  • Support the evaluation of Technical and Engineering Support Services, including architecture of solutions, risk assessment and winning strategies during the pre-proposal phase.


Proposal and Post-award phases:

  • Review and advise on customer technical requirements, the draft-RFP and subsequent RFP requirements.
  • Support Airbus technical writers during the proposal.
  • Support transition from proposal to program execution in the domain of Technical Support Services becoming a focal point of the company in front of the Customer.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • This position is not intended to be all-inclusive and the employee will also perform other tasks as assigned.


Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration or Engineering/Science related field or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Required:
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience working in the USAF logistics and sustainment operations.
    • Experience working as a contractor providing technical support services to the USAF in any sustainment programs.
    • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Management systems (e.g. SAP).
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working in USAF Tanker sustainment programs.


Licensure/Certifications:

  • Required: Project Management Professional PMP


Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of the USAF Technical Publications and technical support tools and processes in sustainment programs (e.g. Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System, FRACAS).
  • Knowledge of compliance with export control regulations (ITAR, EAR).
  • An integrity driven professional who will ensure all work is of a quality that is expected from an Airbus OEM.
  • Must be able to interact cordially and productively with subordinates, co-workers supervisors, and customers.


Communication Skills:

  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills required. Must present clear and concise briefings and reports to customers and executives.


Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • MS Office Suite


Travel Required:

  • 25-50% travel required, domestic and international.
  • Flexibility to adapt to regular travel to Europe and domestically to different sites.

Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance required

  • Highly organized individual able to work with no supervision and have a strong record of consistent success exercising sound judgment and independence.

  • Role includes involved, influence and negotiation type communication with internal and external parties on a regular basis.
