Position Summary:
As a Technical Support Scientist, you will be responsible for responding to incoming technical inquiries from customers with questions about Bio-Techne products. In doing so, you will provide technical assistance and sales assistance, including preparation of simple quotes. You will maintain advanced knowledge of Bio-Techne products, show the ability to handle complex and escalated customer interactions for the department, and offer mentorship to other team members. Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming customer inquiries by phone, email, and chat regarding product questions and techniques, procedures, and advanced troubleshooting requests
- Document all customer interactions in the CRM
- Manage and supports customer requirements to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs
- Proactively drive sales efforts regularly by engaging in cross-selling, product ordering, and developing consultation sales quotations
- Resolve customer complaints and process replacement orders as needed
- Effectively manage advanced customer issues and complex technical questions independently for self and others
- Offer training, mentorship, and support to Technical Support Associates
- Maintain technical resources including FAQs and product citation reviews
- Act as a technical resource for the department
- Identify areas for process improvement and actively engage in efforts to improve procedures
- Document recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development
- Participate in cross-functional projects to achieve product development and/or improvement
- Engage in ongoing training to maintain advanced technical knowledge of Bio-Techne products
- Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in a related field and 2-5 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to type a minimum of 50+ words per minute and navigate multiple computer systems
- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment demanding the ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and multitask
