We are currently looking to hire a Technical System Administrator to join our team (embedded with our client in Austin, TX, and San Jose, California (other locations near metropolitan hubs may be considered). This position allows for hybrid work arrangements.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Technical System Administrator will perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs, including software and computer installations and upgrades, routine automation, security maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and technical support for all users and projects of the organization.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead all aspects of the ticketing system requests, and assign tickets from the queue to
appropriate individuals, and ensure the response time and resolution times are maintained;
coordinate and work on tickets and issues reported by end users for Security programs.
  • Provide initial diagnostics and root causes of simple network and systems problems and then follow the internal critical issue procedures.
  • Perform security software installs on client workstations and technical support by
coordinating problem tracking and resolution.
  • Work on system maintenance, upgrades, and critical operating tasks. Ensure all
applications are aligned with the Information Security policies and standards, using
current industry standards and practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance actions by regularly auditing the system and working with
the vendors.
  • Support and coordinate activities related to VMS (Visitor management system) rollouts
for sites by assisting setup of Kiosks and printers and facilitating training.
  • Build automation for repeated database tasks, and create SQL queries based on user requests.
  • Work on the Total Alarm Volume (TAV) report, analysis of the report, and take actions based on the process defined.
  • Acts as the main contact for badge photo change requests and also supports end-user issues reported related to Badge Management.
  • Play a role in initial partner concern for an incident response involving physical security
technologies, which may require after-hours and weekend work when needed.
  • Promote and enforce network policies and procedures, ensuring data integrity and
security.
  • Responsible for renewing and installing SSL certificates for all web-based applications,
also maintaining the SSL expiry list.
  • Provide clear user documentation and written procedures to ensure other members of the
the team can reference to assist in monitoring, solving, or making changes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors.
  • Experience in physical access control system administration and knowledge of Video Management Systems and Identity Access Management Systems (IAM).
  • Experience with SQL Database administration and a solid grasp of writing custom SQL scripts.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding infrastructure and networking in an enterprise environment.
  • Unix & Windows administration.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours and be available for on-call support as needed.
  • Phenomenal interpersonal and communication skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors.
  • 5+ years experience in technical operations or a similar role
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms
  • Firewall concepts
