Job description
We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team of talented tech writers who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, release notes and developer guides
  • Create tutorials and code samples to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Create and maintain the information architecture
  • Democratize the documentation process across the Developer Platform
Requirements

  • Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
  • Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Comfortable handling multiple projects and self-prioritization of ad hoc requests
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with engineers, product managers, and other partners to help document (and define) new developer products and features.
  • Experience writing all common forms of developer documentation (API reference, conceptual guides, and tutorials).
  • Experience writing Markdown and HTML by hand.
  • Experience working with teams and applications in at least one of the following: Go, Java, or Ruby.
  • Comfortable navigating and reading source code in multiple languages.
  • Experience writing code examples in pseudocode and at least one of the following: Java, React, TypeScript, or C/C++ — and the desire to gain experience with more.
  • Familiarity with version control systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Postman, Jira, Confluence
  • Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
