JOBThe City of Roanoke is seeking a temporary part time Library Assistant I to serve in our City Libraries. This position performs clerical work in the public library system. Charges and discharges library materials, registers patrons, assists in controlling status of materials in circulation. Maintains files and records. Assists the public in the use of library facilities. Locates books, magazines and other materials as requested. Provides general library information. Examines shelves, replaces incorrectly shelved books. Inspects and repairs library materials. Prepares library materials for circulation. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training in a clerical environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Part-Time Library AssistantPerforms clerical and customer service work in the public library system.
