Job description
Under the direction of the Training Bureau Chief, designs technical training and materials for Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) employees and partner staff. Receive information from program experts related to program standards, requirements, and exceptions.
Develop and create courses, unit and lesson learning objectives with match tasks and knowledge identified.
Organize course lessons to provide overview, tasks, processes, summary, practice exercises and evaluation. Submit course materials to content experts for review on a regular basis or as necessary.
Reviews trainees understanding of training materials by designing measurement and feedback systems to assess effectiveness of training. Develop and create assessment measures around objectives.
Conduct training on program specific services provided within the American Job Center Division, UI Division and Workforce Services Division.
Track and report training completed as required for training requirements of all positions within Iowa Workforce Development (IWD).
Schedules training sessions and coordinates in-service training, outside workshops, seminars and conferences with supervisory personnel.
Conduct new employee on-boarding and employee orientation session, plans the agenda and arranges for the participation of department heads, supervisors and program specialists.
On-boarding and new employee orientation is for all Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) employees of the UI Division, Administrative Services Division, Workforce Services Division and American Job Center Division.
Other duties as assigned.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university;
- Professional training, teaching, course development, facilitation or counseling experience in an educational setting;
- Professional personnel administration including such areas as job analysis, performance appraisal, selection devices or labor relations;
- Professional experience in a technical program area utilized by the employing agency;
