Job Description
The TCD Technologist, under the direction of the Neurology Providers, will be responsible for independently performing, interpreting, and dictating transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies. They will be expected to perform transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies including: CO2 challenge, emboli detection monitoring, head-turning maneuvers, and other disease screening as ordered by the Providers; dictate reports on studies performed with entries in patients' graphs and charts and report results to referring physicians daily; develop and ensure compliance with standards for patient care delivery for the department on an ongoing basis; coordinate and oversee the scheduling of patients and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure timely completion of requested studies; update and maintain inventory of all medical supplies, & medical equipment; prepare, submit, and maintain accreditation status for studies within specialty.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be ARDMS certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
- Must have experience performing non-invasive tests and interpreting results obtained.
- Must demonstrate CPR knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of transcranial Doppler ultrasound principles and techniques.
- Advanced experience with using Doppler ultrasound and cerebral blood flow monitoring equipment.
- Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to apply theories and knowledge of physics, anatomy, and pathophysiology to clinical practice.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments to complete patient workload.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, managers, administrative staff, physicians and patients.
- Must have adequate computer and data entry skills to type and prepare online test reports and access patient records using Athena.
- Ability to recognize, spell, and use medical and technical terminology properly. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation must be accurate.
- Ability to teach and speak publicly in a small or large group.
- Judgment skills in order to effectively meet the needs of the Summit Health in the interest of quality testing, safety and possible legal ramifications.
Pay: From $39.00 per hour
