POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall quality, profitability and volume of the Merchant Credit Card Portfolio.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Responsible for the quality of Merchant Credit Card portfolio
- Calls on prospective or existing clients to develop new business, expands existing business relationships, maintains good client relations, and ensures proper servicing of accounts.
- Inside sales to TS Sales Officers and RMs to generate referrals for more complex MCC products
- Completes or facilitates the completion of Merchant Credit Card pricing analysis and makes recommendations to assist business clients.
- Follows up with existing clients to ensure good service, cross-sell additional services and maintains relationships
- Stays apprised of Treasury Services and Merchant Card industry information to fully meet the needs of existing and potential customers.
- Prepares or assists with preparation of MCC and delivers and reviews Treasury Services documents with clients.
- Reviews returned MCC/Treasury Services documents to ensure accuracy.
- Participates in joint calls with Product Generalist to clients with Treasury Services needs.
- Tracks referrals and sales results.
- Assists in developing a marketing strategy for MCC, monitoring its success, and helping to coordinate the Treasury Services sales program with other departments.
- Helps educate both the Retail and Business Banking departments on Merchant Card
- Hosts regular educational seminars for clients on MCC pricing and MCC in general
- Meets with Relationship Managers to review and put together cross-selling action plans based on prospect and existing client lists.
- Recommends and cross sells other services within the bank that are related to Treasury Services.
- Completes all compliance training related to the position.
- Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Two (2) or more years sales experience preferred; one (1) to three (3) years banking experience preferred; experience selling Treasury Services or banking products/services preferred.
- Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
- High degree of self motivation and ability to work autonomously.
- Strong client relationship management and customer service.
- Great written and verbal communication skills and ability to network within the bank and in the community.
- Proactive sales skills with ability to prospect new client relationships.
EDUCATION
Bachelors’ Degree preferred.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel to off-site locations for meetings, projects, seminars, etc., as well as ability to travel overnight.
