Kumon Math & Reading Center of Aptos is an after-school academic enrichment program for students in preschool through high school. We are searching for a reliable, friendly candidate to guide students through our curriculum of math and reading worksheets and to assist in day-to-day operation of our center. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working with children, understands how they learn, and is dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for every student. Candidates must be comfortable with both math AND English through at least the junior high level. Preference will be given to candidates who have excellent skills in math AND/OR English through the high school level. This is an in-person position. This is NOT seasonal position; candidate should expect to start in January/February 2023 and continue working during the school year and summer.

Responsibilities include:

• Grading classwork and homework
• Working with children in the classroom to promote their learning and development
• Performing administrative tasks such as organizing work materials, entering data into our computer system, answering phone calls, etc.
• Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment

Must be able to work some or all of the following hours:

• 2:00pm–6:00pm Monday through Thursday

This is a fulfilling, fun work environment with flexible yet consistent hours. Choose your preferred schedule: work as little as 2 days a week (3-4 hours each) or as many as 4 days (approximately 16 hours per week maximum). Great after-school position for high school or college students.
