Pet+ER is adding a new swing-overnight shift Discharge Coordinator to its Client Services team in our Towson location! Our team boasts a well-defined leadership team and organizational structure. Our state of the art VECCS level II, 24-hour emergency and critical care facility are equipped to handle the specific needs of each patient and their owners. We have a comprehensive suite of equipment and services all under one roof to handle the most severe animal injuries and illnesses, including digital radiology, in-house lab, ICU, surgery suites, oxygen ward, isolation ward, and coming soon, high flow oxygen (Towson only). Our facility is shared with board-certified specialists in:

  • Surgery
  • Dentistry
  • Neurology (Towson)
  • Dentistry (Towson)
  • Canine Rehabilitation
  • Internal Medicine
  • Oncology
  • Cardiology

The role of the Discharge Coordinator entails many duties to help ensure clear communication between our hospital and clients (owners and PCVet) and internally within the Chesapeake Veterinary and Referral Center (CVRC). Additionally, the discharge coordinator helps support the maintenance of patient records and client communications such as laboratory and radiology results, callbacks, and follow-ups. The discharge coordinator also reviews in hospital billing and will audit as needed if any discrepancies.


We are looking for someone who is passionate about veterinary medicine and client service. Someone who understands the basic services of the ER and Specialty practices. Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Basic Math, Reading and Writing skills
  • Be computer literate especially with Windows-based computer systems
  • Charge staff and medical billing
  • Familiarity with practice management software, including Ezyvet, Smartflow, and eFilm preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ years experience working in a team environment
  • 3+ years of veterinary experience must include a background in customer service and technical ability (RVT/LVT/CVT preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline preferred
